This is the work I did for my friend Jay to help her expand her business as a Doula in Victoria.

I created the artwork for this banner using Illustrator and Photoshop.

Project MonMa is non profit organization that focuses on providing,  hope, encouragement and empowerment to women affected by violence and discrimination. At Project MonMa, we want to inspire all women to live their lives in a way where they can make their own choices, follow their dreams and live their life free from violence and discrimination. All our beaded products are hand made by women from recycled paper and our scarves are hand made from silk grown by women in Uganda. We are currently working with Acholi women from Northern Uganda and we plan to expand our project throughout the Central African region. 

The time for change is now! 

Monma comes from a word in the Acholi language from Northern Uganda meaning independent woman.

New project ~ book cover and editing

I've been working on a number of projects recently. This one is for a local writer, Jim Musselwhite, who asked me to create a cover for his book as well as help him edit the book. It's still in the works but I want to show off the cover concept. The book itself is coming along and will soon be available through Kindle. I'll update when it's published.

It's a fast-paced romp through the universe with a wide variety of suspect characters who come to life and grab your attention leaving you wanting to read right to the end to find out their fates without putting down the book.

One of the first things most people think/talk about if they've experienced a fire, flood or natural disaster is the loss of all their photos (assuming their loved ones are safe and well). Ask anyone what they'd grab if their house was on fire (and they knew all their loved ones were safe) - probably 99% would say they'd grab photos.

Disaster strikes suddenly and quickly so there usually isn't time to grab anything but yourself. But, it IS possible to rescue, recover and restore photos afterwards.

Upgrading

Lately I've been spending a fair bit of my free time working on upgrading my Photoshop and Dreamweaver knowledge and I've learned a lot. I've been using Photoshop for years but have found so many more things I can do with it. As a result I've updated my logo, created a funky t-shirt design and I'm redesigning/recreating my website.

One of my new favs in Photoshop is playing with brushes. There are loads of free-to-download brushes on the internet - like the ones at: Brusheezy. After looking through their hundreds of brushes I've come up with loads of ideas for my own. So that's the next thing I'll be focussing on (creating my own brushes).
